Registration Status

Leave of
absence

general absence granted (housework, sick leave)

  • Students who are unable to attend classes for more than one month due to household responsibilities, illness, or other unavoidable ircumstances may submit an application for a general leave of absence. After submitting an application for a leave of absence at HY-in, the administration team and dean of the graduate school must approve the request.
  • In the case of sick leave, a medical certificate issued by a hospital of general hospital level or higher and a medical certificate for more than four weeks must be submitted to the administration team.

Military Absence Leave

  • Before joining the military, a student who must leave school due to military service must submit the necessary paperwork to the administration team and receive approval from the dean of the Graduate School.
  • The duration of a military leave of absence will coincide with the duration of mandatory service.

  • A student who has been sent home after serving in the military (e.g., hardship discharge) must immediately report to the administrative team and take the necessary actions.

General Military Absence Leave

  • In the event that a student receives a notice of admission to the military during a general leave of absence, he or she must obtain the required documentation and submit it to the administrative team for approval of a military leave of absence.

  • A student is limited to one leave of absence per semester.
  • While enrolled in school, the number and duration of leaves of absence are limited to a maximum of four (2 years).
    Military service-related absences are exempt from the number and duration restrictions.

Returning to
school

Before the beginning of each semester, the required documents must be submitted to the administration team within the specified time frame.

Classification of the Return

  • Registered Return to School : Students on an unregistered leave of absence who return to school after the period has ended.
  • Returning to school without registration : A student who was fully registered at the time of a leave of absence but returns after the period has expired. (The registration difference between the time of leave of absence and the time of return to school is not compensated or refunded.)
  • Recognition of return to school for those expected to be discharged from military servic : You can return to school by submitting a letter of recommendation from your unit commander and completing the return procedure within the designated return period.

Notice

  • Those who are eligible for reinstatement must complete the reinstatement application process before registering for classes. (Course registration is not permitted during a leave of absence.) In the case of reinstatement, after the application for reinstatement has been submitted, a notice of tuition payment is issued and the student must register for courses within the specified time frame.

Expulsion

Expulsion justifications

  • • If the student does not return to school within the allotted time after the leave of absence has expired without a valid reason, he or she will be expelled (excluded from the expiration of leave of absence)
  • If registration is not completed by the semester-specific deadline, a late fee will be assessed (expulsion of registration)
  • If the applicant requests withdrawal (withdrawal system)

How to request resignation

  • After printing the withdrawal application form, check with the student support team to see if the loan has been returned, then submit it to the administration team.

Tuition refund standards in case of withdrawal/expulsion of leave of absence

  • The entrance fee is forfeited
  • Refunds based on the semester with the longest period between the beginning of the semester and the date of withdrawal or leave of absence:
    • - Semester start date ~ 30 days before: 5/6
    • - After 30 days ~ Before 60 days: 2/3
    • - After 60 days ~ Before 90 days: 1/2
    • - After 90 days: non-refundable
