With the goal of overcoming intractable diseases in children and adolescents and allowing their potential developmental abilities to be fully demonstrated, early diagnosis biomarkers and AI-based diagnosis/ development of treatment, etc.

Gastroenterology

Among digestive diseases, liver disease (non-alcoholic fatty liver, cirrhosis, liver cirrhosis, liver cancer), metabolic disease-related research, and drug development research related to liver disease and metabolic disease. Conducted research on digestive diseases using big data.

Neurology

As a clinical medicine that deals with diseases of the nervous system, neurology deals with all nervous systems and related parts of the body including the brain, spinal cord and nerve roots, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junctions, and the neuromuscular nervous system. Typical diseases include stroke (mostly cerebral infarction), dementia, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, headache, and dizziness. It is a discipline that requires continuous research for diagnosis.

cardiology

From the understanding of hemodynamics, the most basic of life maintenance, and biosignal analysis, to understanding chronic diseases such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, valvular disease, and heart failure, It is essential for research in various fields, from regenerative research to the development of biomedical devices such as stents, pacemakers, and artificial valves, and the development of life signal monitoring technology.

ophthalmology

Ophthalmology is based on the promotion of public eye health and improvement of quality of life through this. The detailed fields include retina, anterior segment, glaucoma, pediatric strabismus and neuroophthalmology, and plastic ophthalmology, providing systematic and specialized patient care. Not only the 7 full-time faculty members, but also the clinical teachers and clinical instructors of both hospitals are active in treatment and research.

Otolaryngology

To study new mechanisms that can explain the occurrence of neurological diseases, respiratory failure, hypersensitivity inflammation, and chronic inflammation in the upper respiratory tract such as olfactory disorder, sleep disturbance (sleep apnea), allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis. It aims to develop new diagnostic methods (devices), and furthermore, to discover new drug candidates necessary for disease treatment.

Emergency medicine

It studies the mechanism of reaction in the body of patients with poisoning, shock and cardiac arrest, provides evidence for effective resuscitation and various integrated treatments, and furthermore suggests new treatment methods. New diagnosis and treatment that can be applied to critically ill patients are being studied through translational research that connects basic and clinical trials. In addition, we are developing a iagnosis/treatment decision support system and equipment through artificial intelligence in the examination and treatment of critically ill patients.
